  • Fact 6 - Name of mother and father: He was the illegitimate son of a Russian noble, Prince Luka Gedevanishvili and Evdokia Konstantinovna Antonova. He was registered as the son of one of Prince Luka Gedevanishvili's servants whose name was Porfiry Borodin
  • Fact 7 - Family background: His mother had two other illegitimate sons by Prince Luka
  • Fact 8 - Childhood and education: Borodin had and excellent education and learned how to play the cello, flute and piano. He was interested in medicine and attended the Medico-Surgical Academy from where he received a doctorate.
