- Fact 9 - The Chiaha tribe inhabited a fortified town in the French Broad River valley in modern East Tennessee. In 1539, the Spanish led by Hernando de Soto encountered the Chiaha looking for gold.
- Fact 10 - The Chickasaw warred constantly with the Choctaw, the Creek, the Cherokee, and the Shawnee tribes. Their language, Chickasaw, is a Muskogean language closely related to that of the Choctaw. They were removed to Indian Territory to Oklahoma in the 1830s.
- Fact 11 - The Muskogee Creek tribe of Indians were members of the Creek Confederacy formerly living in eastern Alabama, southwest Georgia, and northwest Florida and now located in central Oklahoma and southern Alabama. The Creek received their name from white traders because so many of their villages were located by rivers and creeks.The Creek were removed to Indian Territory in the 1830s.
- Fact 12 - The Natchez originally lived in the Natchez Bluffs area, near the present-day city of Natchez, Mississippi. They spoke the Muskogean language like other Choctaw tribes of the Creek confederacy. They fought wars with the French who sold them into slavery following the Natchez uprising of 1729
- Fact 13 - The Shawnee were Algonquian-speaking tribes who were spread over a widespread geographic area although their earliest known home was in the state of Ohio. Traditionally the Shawnee lived in bark-covered houses grouped into large villages near cornfields. Many Shawnee fought as allies of their French trading partners during the early years of the French and Indian War (aka Seven Years War). In fact, the warlike Shawnee participated in almost every war of the Old West. They were greatly feared as it was their custom to torture their prisoners.

- Fact 15 - The Tuskegee were a small tribe who had suffered many casualties through warfare with their enemies. They eventually found refuge with the Creek Indians

They were were decimated from extensive epidemics of new infectious diseases and warfare from other tribes. During the 17th century, they moved south to Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. They were included in the Creek confederacy for political reasons in the 19th century
